Unauthenticated plugin installation via unchecked REST handler
Published Dec 12, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in ThemeHunk Vayu Blocks 1.1.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to install and activate arbitrary plugins. The tp_install() REST handler processes attacker-supplied plugin identifiers and invokes installation and activation without checking a WordPress capability. No authentication is required; code execution depends on activating a second plugin that contains an exploitable flaw.
