Service interruption via packet handoff buffer overflow
Published Jan 9, 2025 · Updated Apr 16, 2026
Buffer overflow in Zigbee EmberZNet SDK through 7.2.6, 7.3.0 through 7.4.4, and 8.0.0 through 8.0.2 allows remote attackers to interrupt service. The packet handoff plugin copies stack packets into flat byte arrays, and the disclosed overflow writes beyond the destination buffer; no function-level cause is public. Exploitation requires a high-complexity, unauthenticated network path and is bounded to a service interruption, with no disclosed data exposure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
