Remote service interruption via OPC UA request flood
Published Sep 1, 2026 · Updated Sep 1, 2026
Resource exhaustion in EcoStruxure OPC UA Server Expert and Modicon Communication Server allows remote attackers to interrupt service. The OPC UA platform allocates resources without effective limits while processing a large volume of OPC UA requests, exhausting capacity needed for normal traffic. Any network client that can reach the OPC UA endpoint can trigger the condition without authentication, causing loss of real-time Modicon controller process data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
