Subscriber-level data manipulation via unchecked AJAX handlers
Published Oct 18, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in WP Easy Post Types 1.4.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter plugin options and posts. AJAX handlers registered in custom-type.php invoke option and post creation, update, and deletion routines without checking the caller's capabilities. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and successful requests can expose plugin configuration or modify and remove site content.
