Stored XSS via unescaped form message
Published May 15, 2025 · Updated May 20, 2025
Stored XSS in Happyforms before 1.26.3 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to inject scripts through form messages. The “Form can’t be submitted” message accepts unsanitized script-bearing markup and later renders it without output escaping when a form is submitted. The issue is limited to multisite or other installations where unfiltered_html is disabled, and execution occurs in the browser of a user who triggers the affected form.
