Authenticated memory corruption via oversized http_host
Published Jan 29, 2024 · Updated Jun 17, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in TOTOLINK N200RE 9.3.5u.6139_B20201216 allows remote authenticated users to corrupt process memory. The loginAuth function in /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi writes an attacker-controlled http_host value beyond its stack buffer. Administrative access to the router interface is required; public evidence demonstrates the overflow trigger but does not establish code execution.
