CVE-2024-10025Network attack vector

Unauthorized client access via plaintext default passwords

Published Oct 17, 2024 · Updated Oct 17, 2024

Hard-coded credentials in affected SICK CLV6xx, Lector6xx, RFx6xx, and RFU620-10507 firmware allow remote attackers to gain Authorized Client access. The firmware stores reusable default passwords as plaintext in .sdd files, allowing readers of those files to recover credentials accepted by the devices. Network access is required, and the login succeeds only while the relevant default password remains unchanged; the resulting role can affect device integrity and availability.
