Remote device compromise via cstecgi.cgi stack overflow
Published Jan 29, 2024 · Updated Jun 16, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in TOTOLINK N200RE firmware 9.3.5u.6139_B20201216 allows remote authenticated users to compromise the router. The disclosure locates the overflow in main within /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi but does not publish the triggering request field, vulnerable copy operation, or buffer bounds. Administrative access is required under the CNA assessment, and successful memory corruption can expose or alter data and interrupt router service.
