Subscriber-to-Administrator escalation via unchecked social callback
Published Oct 22, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Authentication bypass in Rover IDX 3.0.0.2905 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to gain WordPress administrator access. The rover_idx_refresh_social_callback function completes the social-login callback without sufficient request validation or a capability check. Subscriber-level access is sufficient to enter an administrator context, exposing the data and actions available to that role.
