Authenticated memory corruption via unchecked command length
Published Jan 29, 2024 · Updated Oct 18, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in TOTOLINK N200RE 9.3.5u.6139_B20201216 allows remote authenticated users to corrupt memory via crafted command value. The setTracerouteCfg handler in /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi accepts an oversized command argument without enforcing its stack-buffer capacity, causing an out-of-bounds write. Administrative access to the CGI interface is required; the corruption can crash the management service or overwrite control data in the router process.
