Authenticated service crash via unchecked SSID index
Published Jan 29, 2024 · Updated Jun 2, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda W6 1.0.0.9(4122) allows remote authenticated users to crash httpd via a crafted index parameter. The formwrlSSIDset handler processes index at /goform/wifiSSIDset without enforcing a destination bound, allowing stack-memory corruption. High-privilege web-interface access is required, and public evidence demonstrates service interruption rather than code execution.
