Unauthenticated file disclosure via crafted JSON pathname
Published Feb 5, 2024 · Updated Aug 26, 2024
Path traversal in Gradio before 4.9.0 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary local files via a crafted JSON value in an API request. The API request handler passes the attacker-controlled JSON value into local file resolution without confining the resulting pathname to an authorized directory. The vulnerable Gradio app must be network reachable; no authentication or user interaction is required, and the consequence is server-side file disclosure.
