Unwanted navigation via unconfirmed QR scan
Published Feb 5, 2024 · Updated Oct 27, 2024
User-confirmation failure in Mozilla Firefox for iOS before 129 allows attackers to direct users to unwanted content via QR codes. The QR Code Scanner opens the URL encoded in a scanned QR code without first displaying the destination and requesting confirmation. Exploitation requires a user to scan an attacker-controlled QR code; the bounded effect is navigation to the encoded page.
