Remote service interruption via connection flooding

Published Jan 25, 2024 · Updated Aug 23, 2024

Denial of service in BORGChat 1.0.0 Build 438 allows remote attackers to interrupt its port 7551 chat service. Port 7551 fails to release connection resources while a client repeatedly opens TCP sessions and sends a fixed payload, eventually refusing another connection. No authentication or user interaction is required; the demonstrated outcome is loss of the listening service, not data access or modification.
