Unauthorized account creation via substring domain check
Published Jan 25, 2024 · Updated Jun 17, 2025
Authentication bypass in Mintplex Labs VectorAdmin allows remote attackers to register with an unauthorized email domain. The registration handler in backend/endpoints/auth.js uses email.includes() to accept any address containing the configured domain string instead of comparing the extracted domain. Domain restriction must be enabled, and successful exploitation creates a valid application account without control of an approved-domain mailbox.
