CVE-2024-0865

Local privilege escalation via hard-coded installer credentials

Published Jun 12, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Hard-coded credentials in the installer for Schneider Electric EcoStruxure IT Gateway 1.20.x and earlier allow local users to escalate privileges. The installer embeds static credentials that permit arbitrary code execution as root on Linux or NETWORK SERVICE on Windows. Low-privileged code execution on the host is required, and successful exploitation exposes the gateway database and permits data modification.
