CVE-2024-0831Network attack vector

Sensitive-data exposure via globally applied raw logging

Published Feb 1, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Sensitive-data exposure in HashiCorp Vault and Vault Enterprise 1.15.0 through 1.15.4 allows attackers to read plaintext audit fields. The audit broker applies one device's log_raw setting globally, so devices configured for HMAC hashing also receive raw sensitive values. The condition requires an administrator to enable log_raw on one device and attackers to access another device's audit output.
