Arbitrary file overwrite via unchecked download filename
Published Mar 7, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Path traversal in PaddlePaddle before 2.6 allows remote attackers to overwrite arbitrary files through a crafted download filename. The download function in python/paddle/dataset/common.py accepted save_name without rejecting parent-directory segments before constructing the destination path. Exploitation requires a calling application to pass attacker-controlled download input; successful use writes with the PaddlePaddle process's permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
