Authentication bypass via omitted password parameter
Published Mar 13, 2024 · Updated Dec 16, 2025
Authentication bypass in Arcserve Unified Data Protection 8.1 and 9.2 allows remote attackers to access the UDP Console without credentials. EdgeLoginServiceImpl.doLogin treats an omitted password as a request to retrieve the application's UUID and validates that UUID instead of the supplied user. A passwordless POST to /management/wizardLogin therefore creates an authenticated session able to perform Console tasks that normally require login.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
