Authenticated document deletion via missing role check
Published Feb 25, 2024 · Updated Aug 27, 2024
Improper access control in Mintplex Labs AnythingLLM before 1.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to delete administrator documents. The remove-document route in server/endpoints/system.js used validatedRequest without enforcing the required administrator-or-manager role check. A default-role account is sufficient, and the demonstrated consequence is unauthorized deletion of stored documents.
