Improper access control in AnythingLLM before 1.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to gain administrator access through the user API. The user-creation backend accepts an admin role from a manager-authorized request without enforcing the role hierarchy. Multi-user mode is Docker-only, and exploitation requires an existing manager session; a successful request creates a new administrator account.
