CVE-2024-0774Public exploit

Local code execution via registration buffer overflow

Published Jan 22, 2024 · Updated Nov 13, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in Taurisoft Any Sound Recorder 2.93 allows local users to execute code through crafted registration input. The Registration Handler copies an overlong User Name into a fixed-size stack buffer, overwriting the structured exception-handler record and redirecting control flow. A local user must paste the generated payload into the User Name field and submit registration; the published exploit runs code without elevated privileges.
