Permission grant clickjacking via popup repositioning
Published Jan 23, 2024 · Updated Jun 20, 2025
Clickjacking in Mozilla Firefox before 122, Firefox ESR before 115.7, and Thunderbird before 115.7 lets remote attackers obtain site permissions. PopupNotifications fails to restart its anti-click delay when JavaScript moves a popup, allowing rapid clicks to land on the permission prompt's Allow control. A user must open an attacker-controlled page and click repeatedly; success grants requested capabilities such as location or camera access.
