CVE-2024-0746Public exploit

Application crash via reentrant printer enumeration

Published Jan 23, 2024 · Updated Jun 20, 2025

Use-after-free in Mozilla Firefox before 122, Firefox ESR before 115.7, and Thunderbird before 115.7 allows local users to crash the application. GTK printer enumeration reenters its event loop and deletes the printer collection before a separate list is consulted, leaving gtk_printer_get_name with a freed object. Triggering the crash requires Linux print preview and a timing condition during printer enumeration, observed with a slow remote CUPS server; a website cannot open the dialog itself.
