CVE-2024-0745Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Browser crash via underflowed WebAudio render interval

Published Jan 23, 2024 · Updated Aug 29, 2024

Stack buffer overflow in Firefox before 122 allows remote attackers to crash the browser by loading crafted WebAudio content. AudioEventTimeline::GetValuesAtTimeHelperInternal treats an OscillatorNode stop time earlier than its start time as an unsigned interval near 2^32 and writes past a stack buffer. A victim must load attacker-controlled content; Mozilla's developer analysis found reliable denial of service but no corruption of memory used by other threads.
