Prompt manipulation via incorrect input timestamp
Published Jan 23, 2024 · Updated May 30, 2025
UI validation in Mozilla Firefox before 122, Firefox ESR before 115.7, and Thunderbird before 115.7 allows remote attackers to manipulate prompts. The post-load input guard uses an incorrect user-input timestamp, so clicks can activate or dismiss browser prompts and dialogs that should still reject input. Exploitation requires a user to load attacker-controlled content and interact at the crafted time; the bounded impact is unintended dialog acceptance or dismissal.
