CVE-2024-0741Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Application crash via ANGLE uniform-count overflow

Published Jan 23, 2024 · Updated May 30, 2025

Out-of-bounds write in ANGLE in Mozilla Firefox before 122, Firefox ESR before 115.7, and Thunderbird before 115.7 allows attackers to crash. A crafted GLSL shader overflows the signed uniform-row sum in VariablePacker::checkExpandedVariablesWithinPackingLimits, causing fillColumns to write beyond rows_. A victim must load attacker-controlled WebGL content; successful exploitation corrupts memory and can terminate the affected client, while normal Thunderbird mail reading disables scripting.
