Unauthenticated service crash via oversized FTP password

Published Jan 19, 2024 · Updated Oct 21, 2024

Denial of service in Easy File Sharing FTP Server 3.6 allows remote attackers to crash the FTP service via a long password. The login handler accepts and processes an oversized FTP password without enforcing a safe length, terminating the server when the value reaches it. No authentication or user interaction is required; sending a crafted anonymous-login password interrupts file-transfer service for legitimate users.
