Browser script execution via unsanitized dataset content
Published Jan 19, 2024 · Updated Oct 21, 2024
Cross-site scripting in FactoMineR FactoInvestigate 1.0 through 1.9 allows context-dependent attackers to run scripts in generated HTML reports. The HTML report generator passes dataset content through R Markdown and Pandoc without sanitizing JavaScript-capable markup. Exploitation requires a user to analyze an attacker-supplied dataset and open the resulting report, enabling script execution in the report's browser context.
