Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Mar 18, 2024 · Updated Aug 9, 2024
Stored XSS in OTWthemes Tabs Shortcode and Widget 1.17 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via shortcodes. The otw_shortcode_tabslayout shortcode outputs the css_class and css_id attributes into page markup without validation or context-appropriate escaping. Contributor-level access is required to save a crafted post or page, and the injected script runs when another user views that content.
