CVE-2024-0689Network attack vector

Stored XSS via unsanitized meta import

Published Feb 29, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

Stored XSS in Custom Field Suite 2.6.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through imported meta values. The meta import path stores attacker-controlled meta values without sanitizing them, and page rendering emits those values without output escaping. Administrator-level access is required, and exposure is limited to multisite installations or sites where unfiltered_html is disabled; viewing an injected page executes the stored script in the visitor's browser.
