Administrator-level stored XSS via unescaped plugin settings
Published Jan 25, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in joshfraz WebSub 3.1.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through plugin settings. The settings path accepts hub values without sufficient input sanitization, then renders the stored values without context-appropriate output escaping. Administrator-level access is required, and injected JavaScript executes in the affected WordPress site's origin when the tainted output is viewed.
