Administrator stored XSS via unescaped language settings

Published Feb 20, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

Stored XSS in FooGallery 2.4.7 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through Image Viewer language settings. The settings handler stores unfiltered Image Viewer label values and embeds them without adequate escaping in the FooGallery_il8n JavaScript object. Administrator access and either WordPress multisite or disabled unfiltered_html are required; the script runs when a visitor opens an affected gallery page.
