Administrator-level stored XSS via unsanitized excerpt settings
Published Feb 20, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Jeff Parker's YARPP 5.30.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via administrator settings. The excerpt wording fields in Automatic Display Options accept unsanitized HTML that is later rendered without adequate output escaping. Exploitation requires administrator-level access and a multisite installation or a site where unfiltered_html is disabled; injected code runs when a user views the affected page.
