Protected-post disclosure via forged related-post links
Published Mar 13, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Related Posts for WordPress 2.2.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to expose protected posts. The handle_create_link() function processes attacker-chosen related-post associations without validating a WordPress nonce. Exploitation requires an administrator to act on a forged request, after which draft and password-protected posts become viewable.
