Reflected XSS via spreadsheet formula injection
Published Mar 13, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Reflected XSS in wpDataTables 3.4.2.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to run scripts in a user's browser via a crafted request. The bundled PhpSpreadsheet 45_Quadratic_equation_solver.php sample concatenates the A input into a spreadsheet formula and renders its result without output encoding. Exploitation requires a user to open the crafted request; script execution occurs in that user's site context and can read or alter browser-accessible data.
