Remote code execution via File argument overflow
Published Jan 16, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in TOTOLINK LR1200GB 9.1.0u.6619_B20230130 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. UploadCustomModule in /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi mishandles attacker-controlled File data and writes beyond a stack buffer boundary. Low-privileged management access is required; successful exploitation can compromise the router's confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
