Stored XSS via unescaped widget attributes
Published Mar 11, 2024 · Updated Oct 31, 2024
Stored XSS in Ultimate Posts Widget before 2.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through widget options. The Title, URL, and CSS Classes values are inserted into HTML attributes without validation or escaping, so crafted event handlers persist. Administrator access is required, and execution occurs when a user hovers over the rendered widget title or affected editor field.
