Published Mar 11, 2024 · Updated Mar 20, 2025
Stored XSS in Clever Widgets Enhanced Text Widget before 1.6.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through widget fields. The plugin stores crafted Title, Title URL, or Widget CSS class values and outputs them into HTML attributes without adequate validation or escaping. Administrator or editor access is required, but the attack remains effective when unfiltered_html is disabled and executes when another user interacts with the affected widget output.
