CVE-2024-0550Network attack vector

Arbitrary file read via profile picture traversal

Published Feb 28, 2024 · Updated Aug 22, 2024

Relative path traversal in Mintplex Labs AnythingLLM before 1.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary server files. The profile update API stores an unnormalized relative path as pfpFilename, and the profile-picture GET path joins that value to its storage directory before reading the resolved file. Exploitation requires a manager or administrator account and exposes readable files from the server without reported service interruption.
