CVE-2024-0549Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated file deletion via unnormalized paths

Published Apr 16, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Relative path traversal in AnythingLLM before 1.0.0 allows remote authenticated users with a default role to delete filesystem data. The purgeSourceDocument and purgeFolder paths resolve attacker-controlled names and pass the results to filesystem removal operations without first stripping traversal segments. A default-role account can therefore escape the document directory and delete application data, including the SQLite database, interrupting service.
