Memory corruption via oversized groupName port-map input

Published Jan 15, 2024 · Updated Nov 14, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda PA6 1.0.1.21 allows remote authenticated users to corrupt memory through a crafted groupName value. The httpd cgiPortMapAdd handler for /portmap fails to bound groupName before the value exceeds a stack buffer. Access to the web management interface is required, and the public record does not establish whether exploitation ends in a crash or code execution.
