Code execution via unchecked deviceList copy
Published Jan 15, 2024 · Updated Jun 3, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in the Tenda A15 15.13.07.13 web interface allows remote authenticated users to execute code via deviceList. The formAddMacfilterRule handler reads deviceList with websGetVar, and parse_macfilter_rule copies it into dest_rule->name with strcpy without a length check. Administrative access to the management interface is required; an oversized value can corrupt stack memory, crash the service, or redirect execution.
