Stored XSS via unsanitized image alt text
Published Feb 20, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Elementor Website Builder 3.18.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through image alt text. The get_image_alt function places attacker-controlled $instance[alt] content into generated page markup without sufficient sanitization and output escaping. Contributor access is required to save the payload, which executes in a visitor's browser when the affected page is opened.
