Denial of service via overlapping ZIP entries

Denial of service in CPython allows local users to exhaust storage by extracting a crafted quoted-overlap ZIP archive with zipfile. ZipFile.open trusted each entry's compressed size without checking whether its data crossed the next local header or central directory, allowing overlapping streams to expand repeatedly. Exploitation requires code to process the crafted archive; the demonstrated 116 KB input expands to 17 GB and can interrupt the application or host.
