Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped map titles
Published Feb 12, 2024 · Updated Oct 27, 2024
Stored XSS in MapPress Maps for WordPress before 2.88.15 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through map titles. The plugin stores contributor-supplied titles without sanitization and renders them without escaping in the admin post list. Contributor access is required, and the script executes in another user's browser when that user opens the affected post dashboard, permitting actions within that browser session.
