Database disclosure via unprepared JSON filters
Published Jan 17, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
SQL injection in Burst Statistics 1.5.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read database data through crafted JSON filters. The /wp-json/burst/v1/data/compare endpoint incorporates browser, device, page, platform, and referrer values into SQL queries without sufficient escaping or parameter preparation. Editor-level access or higher is required, and injected query clauses expose sensitive WordPress database information.
