CVE-2024-0401Network attack vector

Authenticated command execution via crafted OVPN profile

Published May 20, 2024 · Updated Nov 22, 2025

OS command injection in ASUS router firmware allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands through a crafted OVPN profile. The custom OpenVPN profile importer fails to neutralize command syntax in uploaded profile content before using that content in an operating-system command. Administrative access to the profile-upload interface is required, and successful exploitation grants command execution with the firmware service's privileges.
