Published Feb 20, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Smash Balloon Custom Twitter Feeds 2.2.1 and earlier lets attackers replace Twitter API credentials via a forged request. The ctf_auto_save_tokens handler saves supplied token and secret values without correctly validating a WordPress nonce. Exploitation requires an administrator's active browser session and interaction with a crafted link or request, and changes the site's configured Twitter API credentials.
