Unauthenticated review publication via missing capability check
Published Mar 13, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in LifterLMS 7.5.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to publish unlimited course reviews through WordPress AJAX. The unauthenticated LLMSSubmitReview handler invokes process_review, which inserts an llms_review post with publish status without checking whether the requester may write a review. A reachable WordPress site with course reviews enabled exposes the handler; successful requests add attacker-supplied published reviews but do not grant broader site control.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
